Prema Trettin, MA has spent over 10 years in the Middle School STEM classroom, nurturing students to develop their confidence and follow their passions to deep learning. Prema genuinely believes that all people are math(s) people and that a scientist is who emerges when we nurture our innate curiosity as human beings. Prema holds a Teaching Credential & Masters in Educational Leadership & Change from Antioch University Los Angeles, and a Bachelor's in Modern Culture & Media from Brown University. They are a second career educator, having spent 10 years in TV Commercial Production in Los Angeles before entering the classroom. Prema has taught at Charter, Public & Independent Schools in the Los Angeles & Bay Areas. Prema's love of learning stems from the progressive education they received growing up outside of Aspen, Colorado, which taught them that learning by doing leads to authentic, lasting understanding. A lifelong learner, Prema is passionate about the importance of student voice and choice.
