Kealy Jaynes

5th Grade FIRE Lead Teacher

Kealy Jaynes is a passionate educator and instructional leader who has worked in education for nearly 10 years. Kealy joins us from her previous position as a site and district instructional coach where she worked with secondary teachers across all subject areas to grow their professional practice and better meet students' needs. She also spearheaded several district-wide initiatives to integrate educational technology and facilitated professional development for school leaders and teachers across the district. Before that, Kealy worked as a middle school humanities teacher at a variety of grade levels, and taught English at a university in Turkey for a year as a Fulbright grantee. Over the summer, Kealy also serves as a Site Program Director for Galileo Learning, where she enjoys creating a safe and joyful environment for kids to innovate and play. 

Kealy earned her BA in English, with a Teacher Education Emphasis from Pepperdine University and a Ed.M. from Harvard Graduate School of Education in Language and Literacy, with an emphasis in Instructional Coaching. Kealy is passionate about cultivating students' curiosity, critical thinking, and love of reading. Her areas of professional expertise are Universal Design for Learning, culturally responsive pedagogy, and literacy development.
