Extended Care Program
The Berkwood Hedge School Extended Care Program is a warm, caring and nurturing environment where children can feel at home away from home. Extended Care includes our Before School Care from 8:00-8:15am, and our After School Program (ASP) from 3-6pm (2-6pm on Wednesdays).
Our talented team of experienced educators coordinates intellectual, creative and athletic activities that foster self-expression, discovery and growth. We provide a delicious and nutritious snack every day and a quiet space where students can receive homework help. In addition, we offer three 8 week enrichment sessions each year consisting of fee-based classes and clubs taught by Berkwood Hedge staff members and local outside providers.
After School Program (ASP): Popular enrichment subjects have included science, technology, engineering, art, music, chess, dance, and martial arts (to name a few). All ASP activities and enrichment programs utilize age-appropriate materials and a child-centered approach to ensure a safe and stimulating learning environment for students. In addition to scheduled enrichment sessions, our loose yet consistent structure allows for plenty of free and imaginative play, which has been shown to contribute to healthy social, emotional and cognitive development.
We are open every school day from 3-6pm (2-6 on Wednesdays) and most holidays. There is no need to sign up ahead of time for regular school-day care as drop-ins are welcome, but we do ask that you sign up ahead of time for holiday care. For more information regarding pricing and schedule please see the Berkwood Hedge Handbook, Master Calendar and/or Tuesday Note(s).
